COVID Spring Booster Vaccinations 2023

People aged 75 years and older, residents in care homes for older people, and those aged 5 years and over with a weakened immune system will be offered a booster of the COVID-19 vaccine this spring.

Those who meet the criteria should be offered an appointment between April and June 2023 with those at highest risk being called in first. If eligible, you will be invited to have the booster around 6 months from your last dose but it can be given from 3 months. Anyone turning 75 between April and June will be called for vaccination during the campaign and will not have to wait for their birthday.

More information about the Spring Booster programme can be accessed here: A guide to the COVID-19 spring booster 2023 – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Holderness Health will not be offering the spring booster in the surgery. The East Riding of Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership has appointed Wilberforce Pharmacy to support the vaccination programme within the Holderness area. Wilberforce will be visiting our local Care Homes for Older people and housebound patients over the age of 75 (and those turning 75 by 30 June 2023) to administer the vaccine.

Anyone eligible who does not live in a local care home and is not housebound will be able to access appointments through the National Booking Service online or by calling 119. We understand that there are plans in place to offer local appointments in both Withernsea and Hedon.
